In November 2000 we visited the orphanage and found children who were basically happy but lacking many of the simple things that make life easier. The visiting American men donated over $1000 and the following items were purchased for the orphanage: 40 sets of silverware, 10 plastic tables for dining and homework, plastic plates and cups, a new Singer sewing machine (see photo), a used computer and other various items.
